German Federal Police on High Alert at Train Stations and Airports Amid Iran Conflict Escalation

The Federal Police are on heightened alert at German train stations and airports amid the expanding conflict in Iran.

Police union leader Andreas Roßkopf, chair of the Gewerkschaft der Polizei (GdP) for the Federal Police sector, told the “Rheinische Post” on Tuesday: “The increased readiness is specifically in the train‑station and airport areas. We are dealing with critical infrastructure”.

He explained that the situation in the Middle East – especially in Iran – has led to “increased vigilance in our daily operations in Germany”. Roßkopf added that “no one can currently determine precisely whether sleeper cells might become active, but we security authorities are well prepared and exceptionally alert”.
