On Saturday night, the 26th round of the Bundesliga saw Hamburger SV and 1. FC Köln finish in a 1-1 draw.
In the first half, HSV took the lead when Fabio Vieira scored a stylish goal in the 39th minute. He capitalised on a long pass from Mikelbrencis, lifting the ball over the highly positioned goalkeeper, Schwäbe. Just before the break, Köln equalised: Said El Mala cut a long corner into the second post and headed it past the bar in the 45th minute.
The remainder of the match was tightly contested but yielded no further goals. Both sides had chances to decide the game, and in stoppage time HSV’s Elfadli had a header that narrowly missed the target.
Hamburger maintained a defensive solidity, relying on quick transitions to create opportunities, while Köln struggled to take control of the game and found little way past the disciplined Hamburg back line. The match featured numerous substitutions and a few yellow cards, reflecting the intensity of the encounter.
Both clubs ended the game content with a point. HSV missed a chance to distance themselves from the relegation zone, whereas Köln, after four losses in five outings, secured a small victory. The standings now see Köln briefly promoted to 13th place, just one point shy of the 16th‑place relegation spot, while Hamburg remains comfortably in 10th.
