German Fuel Prices Flat Amid Middle East Tensions as Govt Plans Daily Price‑Change Limits

Fuel prices at German service stations have not risen again in the third week since the outbreak of war in the Middle East, but they remain at a very high level.
On Tuesday, the nationwide average price of a liter of Super E10 was 2.042 €-a drop of 0.3 cent compared with the week before, said a spokesperson for the ADAC. Diesel was slightly cheaper, averaging 2.162 € per litre, down 2.6 cent on a weekly basis.

In response to the persistently high prices, the federal government is working on a package of measures aimed at easing the situation. One of the proposals limits the number of price increases that can be applied at fuel stations each day. Economy Minister Katharina Reiche (CDU) said the legislation for the package should be completed by the beginning of April at the latest.
