Germany Reports Over 500 Open Arrest Warrants for Right‑Wing Extremists, Urging Swift Enforcement

More than 500 right‑wing extremists in Germany are being sought with open arrest warrants, according to the federal Interior Ministry’s reply to a small inquiry from the Green parliamentary group. The ministry’s response, which the “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland” newspapers reported, lists the latest figures.

As of the latest cut‑off date, September 30 2025, 688 arrest warrants were open against 515 individuals linked to the far‑right extremist scene. In addition, 185 people identified as “Reichsbürger” (so‑called “self‑administers”) were wanted under a total of 242 open warrants.

The Interior Ministry also released data on right‑wing crimes committed in 2025. Police recorded 36,951 offences nationwide, including 1,395 violent crimes. In 2024, the numbers were even higher, with 42,788 offences recorded, of which 1,488 were violent.

Irene Mihalic, the parliamentary administrative officer of the Green Bundestag group, warned that the situation remains dire. “Nearly 37,000 incidents demonstrate how massive the problem is still. Six attempted murders and roughly 1,400 violent acts show the unwavering willingness of the scene to use violence” she told the RND. “The Interior Minister must finally act decisively. Open arrest warrants should not continue to pile up; they must be enforced. The same applies to disarming right‑wing extremists”.

Mihalic also called for a tougher approach against the Reichsbürger movement. “Behind oddly‑named organisations such as ‘Bismarcks Erben’ are right‑wing extremist and antisemitic actors who reject our state” she added.
