Nagelsmann Calls Up Stiller & Führich as Injury-Replacements for Germany’s March Friendlies vs Switzerland and Ghana

Chief coach Julian Nagelsmann has added two players from VfB Stuttgart, Angelo Stiller and Chris Führich, to Germany’s squad for the upcoming internationals. They will replace the injured Felix Nmecha (Borussia Dortmund) and Aleksandar Pavlovic (FC Bayern Munich), the German Football Association said on Monday.

Nmecha will not be available for the fixtures against Switzerland and Ghana because of a lateral‑ligament injury to his right knee. Pavlovic is sidelined with hip problems. Germany meets Switzerland on 27 March in Basel and Ghana on 30 March in Stuttgart.

In terms of historical encounters, the German side has played Switzerland 54 times, winning 36 matches, with the Swiss winning nine and nine games ending in draws. The four‑time African champions Ghana have faced Germany only three times. In the 1993 friendly in Bochum, Germany won 6‑1. At the World Cups in 2010 and 2014, Germany recorded one win and one draw against Ghana.
