Man Loses to Life Imprisonment After Fatal Street Race Kills Two Women in Ludwigsburg

During a trial concerning a fatal car race held in Ludwigsburg, a 33-year-old man was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. The Stuttgart Regional Court found him guilty of murder after the incident occurred on March 20, 2025. The man was involved in a race through Ludwigsburg with his brother, an event that resulted in a collision with an unoccupied passenger vehicle. This third vehicle was carrying two young women who sustained fatal injuries.

The brother, who was driving the second car, was found guilty of attempted murder and handed a 13-year prison sentence. A third defendant, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was sentenced instead to probation.

In making this final decision, the court followed the demands presented by the public prosecutor. Throughout the proceedings, the defense had argued against the charge of murder, advocating instead for a charge of negligent homicide.
