The brother, who was driving the second car, was found guilty of attempted murder and handed a 13-year prison sentence. A third defendant, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles, was sentenced instead to probation.
In making this final decision, the court followed the demands presented by the public prosecutor. Throughout the proceedings, the defense had argued against the charge of murder, advocating instead for a charge of negligent homicide.
