Bayern Defuses St. Pauli, Smashes Bundesliga Scoring Record with Dominant 5-0 Victory

Bayern Munich secured a commanding 5-0 victory against FC St. Pauli at the Millerntor-Stadion on Saturday evening. Jamal Musiala opened the scoring in the 9th minute with a header following a cross from Konrad Laimer, setting a Bundesliga scoring record from the 1971/72 season.

Leon Goretzka made the score 2-0 in the 53rd minute with a volley from a free kick, which marked the club’s 102nd seasonal goal. Just a minute later, Michael Olise added the third goal with a precisely placed shot from 18 meters out.

In the 65th minute, Nicolas Jackson Capitalized on an error from Joel Chima Fujita, scoring the fourth goal after an assist from Jamal Musiala. Raphael Guerreiro sealed the victory in the 89th minute, successfully beating Vasilj in a one-on-one situation after advancing into the box uncontested. St. Pauli struggled significantly to contain the attacking efforts of Bayern and spent much of the game playing defensively.

The home side attempted to limit the damage through substitutions and sporadic attacks, but the Munich team dominated the match proceedings. Despite efforts, such as a long-range shot from Connor Metcalfe, St. Pauli could not register any meaningful success. Conversely, Bayern demonstrated superiority across all phases of play, maintaining confident ball circulation.

This win allows Bayern Munich to further widen their lead at the top of the league table, while St. Pauli remains entrenched in the relegation battle. Head coach Vincent Kompany praised his team’s strong performance, noting that they impressively displayed their quality despite numerous squad changes.
