In response to the extensive wave of strikes, Lufthansa Group management is implementing stringent measures. According to internal information cited by the “Handelsblatt” (Friday edition), the operations of Lufthansa Cityline are being suspended with immediate effect. Consequently, nearly all employees will be placed on temporary leave. An internal directive stated that after a comprehensive review, the decision was made to temporarily halt Cityline flight operations until further notice. This means that no flights will be conducted in the meantime. Furthermore, all affected crew members in the cockpit and cabin will be temporarily suspended, with only a few exceptions. This action stems from a decision by the core brand, Lufthansa Classic, to forgo using Cityline’s services due to the ongoing strikes. Cityline typically handles feeder flights, such as those to Frankfurt and Munich. A spokesperson for Lufthansa confirmed this information when approached for comment.
