Former Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) has stated that he does not rule out a return to politics. The former politician told the “Handelsblatt” (Thursday edition) that at 40 years old, he still has many years ahead of him. Previously, Kurz had consistently denied any possibility of a political comeback.
In the past five years, he acknowledged that several opportunities have presented themselves for him to re-enter the political arena. He explained that he chose not to pursue them until now. While he provided no concrete plans, he noted that he currently feels very comfortable in his role as an entrepreneur.
Kurz resigned as Chancellor in 2021 following corruption allegations. Today, he works as an entrepreneur and is a co-founder of the cybersecurity company Dream Security. Initially, he said leaving politics was “very difficult,” but he has since settled into his current life. He concluded that without the end of his political career, he would not have achieved his “financial independence” or gained valuable experience as a business owner.
