Police have arrested the man who drove an SUV through a crowd in Leipzig’s city center, confirming that there is no immediate danger. Earlier reports detailed that the suspect is reportedly a German man, aged between 30 and 40, who has visible tattoos and appeared confused.

Rescue services have confirmed that there are two fatalities and two individuals who are seriously injured. Additionally, about 20 other people were affected. The scale of the incident required a major response, involving 80 first responders from the fire department and rescue services, along with two helicopters. Police established a wide perimeter around the location.
