Heidenheim and St. Pauli Drop to 2. Bundesliga as Wolfsburg Survives Bundesliga Relegation Scare

The football season concluded with significant changes at the bottom of the table. FC Heidenheim and St. Pauli have been relegated. Heidenheim finished second to last after a 0-2 loss to FSV Mainz, while St. Pauli dropped to the very last spot following a 1-3 defeat against Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg, meanwhile, survived the relegation battle on the final matchday, securing 16th place. Their continued fight for league survival will be decided on Sunday against a competitor from the second tier-be it Elversberg, Hannover 96, or Paderborn.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich have cemented their title status, having been confirmed champions since mid-April. On Saturday, they reaffirmed their winning ways with a convincing 5-1 victory over 1. FC Köln, which saw Cologne drop to 14th place.

The results from the final matchday across the league included: Werder Bremen losing 0-2 to Borussia Dortmund; Freiburg defeating Leipzig 4-1; Frankfurt and Stuttgart drawing 2-2; Union Berlin securing a dominant 4-0 victory against FC Augsburg; Borussia Mönchengladbach achieving a clean 4-0 sweep against 1899 Hoffenheim; and Bayer Leverkusen drawing 1-1 with Hamburger SV.

FC Bayern Munich currently tops the final league table.
