Germany and Ukraine Boost Economic Ties with New Double Taxation Agreement

Germany and Ukraine are set to sign a new Double Tax Arrangement, an agreement that will be finalized during the G7 meeting of finance ministers in Paris. Federal Minister of Finance Lars Klingbeil (SPD) announced this early Monday morning just before his departure for the French capital.

Klingbeil stated that he will sign the document alongside his Ukrainian counterpart, Serhiy Marchenko. According to the German finance minister, the pact will strengthen economic cooperation and provide legal certainty between the two nations.

While Germany and Ukraine previously established a Double Taxation Agreement in the 1990s, the new agreement aims to elevate economic ties to a new level. Furthermore, Klingbeil emphasized that the treaty will remain relevant not only in the immediate future but also for the period following the war and during the subsequent reconstruction efforts.
