Berlin Charité Receives Confirmed Ebola Patient for Specialized Care and Treatment

The Federal Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday in Berlin that the Charité hospital will admit a patient infected with Ebola. This development comes in response to a request from US authorities to the German government for assistance in treating a US citizen.

The patient contracted the Ebola virus while in Congo, amid the ongoing outbreak situation across Congo and Uganda. The German government has committed its support, and the patient is set to be admitted and treated at Charité’s specialized isolation unit in Berlin.

According to the Ministry, all necessary preparations were made on Tuesday involving all involved parties to ensure the patient’s safety and proper care.
