Scotland secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Haiti during the football World Cup following an intense match. John McGinn netted the decisive goal in the 28th minute. The sequence began with a long ball from Che Adams, who impressively won the ball in the air, followed by a pass from Ben Gannon-Doak back to Adams. Adams’ shot was saved by Johny Placide, and the subsequent rebound fell to McGinn, who scored from a central position in the goal.
In the first half, Scotland held the advantage, displaying superior chances and dominating the flow of the game. Their progress was bolstered by Scott McTominay, who managed to hit the post in the 17th minute. Haiti, meanwhile, focused on exploiting quick counterattacks but struggled to break through the Scottish defense.
Although Haiti pushed for an equalizer in the second half, the Scottish defense remained steadfast. Frantzdy Pierrot had the best chance for the Haitian side in the 85th minute when he headed the ball narrowly past the goal following a cross. Despite these efforts, they were unable to find the goal. The match was punctuated by numerous fouls and interruptions, repeatedly hindering the pace of play. Both teams fought until the end, but Scotland ultimately managed to maintain their slender lead and claim the win.
