Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit underwent a successful lung transplant at Oslo University Hospital. The Royal House announced this update on Wednesday.
Are Holm, Professor of Medicine at the University of Oslo and a leading consultant and specialist in respiratory diseases at the university hospital, confirmed that the Crown Princess will remain hospitalized for several weeks. This extended stay is routine, necessary for adjusting medication, managing potential complications, and carrying out rehabilitation.
Crown Prince Haakon plans to adjust his official schedule to ensure he can support the Crown Princess during her recovery. Further health updates will be provided once the Crown Princess is discharged from the hospital.
