The planned discussions between the United States and Iran at the Swiss mountain resort of Bürgenstock have been postponed. The Swiss Foreign Ministry has confirmed that it remains ready to facilitate the talks, though no new date has been set. Preparations on site, however, will continue.
Previously, the White House announced that US Vice President JD Vance would not travel to Switzerland as planned because the plans for the talks have not yet been finalized. Vance had earlier indicated his intention to visit Switzerland but later admitted that the timing remained uncertain.
Meanwhile, Israel launched new air attacks in southern Lebanon, resulting in at least 18 deaths and dozens of injuries, according to Lebanese reports. The Israeli army stated that the strikes targeted Hezbollah assets in response to repeated ceasefire violations perpetrated by the Iran-backed militia.
