Bayern Munich Seals Long-Term Future for Konrad Laimer Until 2029

FC Bayern Munich has extended the contract of Austrian international Konrad Laimer until June 30, 2029. The club announced the extension on Monday.

Bayern Sporting Director Max Eberl praised the midfielder, stating, “Reliability at a top level has its name, and with his skills and character, he is an important part of the team.” Eberl added that Laimer is a player who motivates and pulls others along, doing so every single day.

Laimer himself expressed his enthusiasm for the club, commenting, “For me, it is something very special to play in the FC Bayern jersey.” He emphasized that from day one, he felt how happy he was in Munich and how much fun it is to play soccer with this squad.

The 29-year-old defender has been with the Munich side since the 2023/24 season. During his time at the club, he has contributed to two German Championships, each holding the DFB-Pokal and the German Supercup once. To date, he has played 136 competitive matches for FC Bayern, scoring seven goals and providing 19 assists.

On the international stage, Laimer has accumulated 61 appearances with the Austrian national team, netting seven goals. During the World Cup in North America, he played every minute of all ÖFB games, though Austria was eliminated by eventual champions Spain in the Round of 16.
