Further details have emerged regarding the woman killed in the attack on the Berlin Christopher Street Day (CSD). According to the newspaper “Bild”, based on its own sources, the victim is reportedly a mother from Poland. Her daughter survived the assault after being injured in the Tiergarten park in Berlin. However, the woman’s definitive identification is still pending. Among the 29 other individuals who were injured, none are currently considered to be in life-threatening danger.
In the meantime, the investigations into the incident, which are now being led by the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, continue. The suspected attacker, identified as Abdul B., drove into the Tiergarten park in a small truck around 10 p.m. on Saturday, right when CSD participants were celebrating. Following this, he apparently attacked passersby with a machete. Abdul B. was later located in a small garden complex in Spandau on Sunday evening and was shot during a police operation.
