Confidence in the current federal government appears low. A survey conducted by the opinion research institute Insa for “Bild am Sonntag” revealed that 57% of respondents expect an early end to the current administration. Only 29% anticipate that the government will remain in office until the regular conclusion of the electoral term in 2029, while 14% offered no opinion.
This lack of faith extends to the government’s ability to enact immediate changes. Only 25% of participants trust the federal government to finalize significant reforms within this year; meanwhile, 65% believe this is impossible, and 10% were undecided.
When consulted on the question, “Do you trust the newly appointed federal government to implement important reforms this year?”, only 25% answered affirmatively.
Regarding areas requiring the greatest attention, Germans prioritized pension reform (64%), followed closely by economic issues (63%) and the healthcare system (62%). Additional major concerns included domestic security (54%) and migration (53%).
For this survey, Insa polled 1,002 people between July 30 and July 31, 2026.
