Daimler Truck’s profit fell sharply by 48 percent in the second quarter of this year. The group, headquartered in Leinfelden-Echterdingen, stated on Friday that its consolidated result dropped from 245 million euros in the previous year’s quarter to 128 million euros.
Despite this significant decline in quarterly earnings, Daimler Truck remains committed to expansion, planning to build a new factory in the United States. This facility will specialize in manufacturing heavy-duty and long-haul trucks, with production slated to begin in 2029. Construction is expected to start by the end of 2026, though potential sites are still under review. The company has not yet disclosed specific investment figures or details regarding the production capacity.
In a contrasting move, Daimler Truck hiked its forecast for the 2026 fiscal year. This upward revision is based on the expectation of accelerated earnings growth in the second half of the year. That growth is anticipated to be driven by increased sales figures in North America and by tariff-related improvements following the recognition of US value-added components.
