Police are continuing their investigations following recent shootings in Berlin-Kreuzberg’s Graefekiez neighborhood. According to a police spokesperson, authorities are currently examining whether these incidents are related to earlier instances of firearm violence in the area.
The altercation that occurred last Friday involved a 22-year-old man who was injured around 8:40 PM. The victim was seated outside a café at the corner of Graefestraße and Böckhstraße when he was struck multiple times by bullets. Emergency services attended to the man, and medical officials confirmed that he was not in life-threatening condition. The police cordoned off the crime scene with red and white tape and began sweeping the area with flashlights. The nearby Admiralbrücke was also temporarily closed.
The Graefekiez has seen several similar incidents recently. Back in March, two men shot at a 23-year-old who was walking on the pavement of Graefestraße with a companion. The 23-year-old sustained serious injuries, and the perpetrators managed to flee the scene. Furthermore, in May, the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) took over an investigation after an unknown individual shot at a car while riding a scooter in the same district. Shortly thereafter, shots were fired in the Urbanstraße area towards Hermannplatz, and another shooting took place in Reinickendorf in front of an establishment.
