Before the cabinet discussions in Neuhardenberg, which are centered on growth and innovation, the construction industry is calling on the government to finally deliver. Tim-Oliver Müller, Chief Executive Officer of the Association of the German Construction Industry (HDB), told Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland that he expects “a signal of impetus from Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his cabinet, one that unlocks new dynamics and speeds.” He added that industry, business, and citizens alike were counting on a reliable location and investment strategy ahead of the upcoming state elections, a strategy that must be implemented quickly and without political maneuvering. Müller stressed that the priorities must be: strengthening the location, investing in infrastructure, and finally launching a housing construction boom. This must be the spirit of Schloss Neuhardenberg in the next two days.
