Weekly polling data from Forsa, measuring voter favorability, shows no changes for the fourth consecutive week. In this recent survey for RTL and ntv aktuell, the AfD holds a nine-point lead over the Union, ranking at 28 percent. Following the AfD are the Greens with 16 percent. The SPD and The Left are tied at 12 percent each, while the FDP stands at four percent. The proportion of non-voters and undecided respondents is 28 percent. This figure is more than ten percentage points higher than the non-voter rate of 17.9 percent observed in the 2025 federal elections. The disparity is particularly pronounced in the Eastern states, where the AfD registers at 43 percent. In the East, The Left leads the CDU/CSU with 16 percent, compared to the CDU/CSU’s 13 percent. The Greens and the SPD both achieve nine percent, while the FDP is at three percent.
Regarding the question of which party Germans are most likely to trust with solving problems in Germany, the AfD remains in the lead and is unchanged at 13 percent. The Union, however, dropped one percentage point to 11 percent, marking its lowest value since October 2022. The Greens recorded eight percent, an increase of one point from before. The SPD and The Left both stood at five percent. Despite these results, over half of the respondents (56 percent) indicated that they trust no single party to be the best solution provider for Germany. The survey was conducted among 2,501 individuals between August 18 and August 24.
