Sahra Wagenknecht, a founding member of the BSW, challenged the statement made by Katja Wolf, the leader of BSW Thuringia, who claimed that there had been no contact or attempts at communication between the two women for eighteen months. “That is not true,” Wagenknecht told the news portal T-Online. She added that while communication had often been one-sided, she had consistently tried to speak with Wolf in recent years and remains so currently.
Regarding internal party politics, Wagenknecht voiced her wish that BSW Thuringia should withdraw its support for CDU Minister-President Mario Voigt. She stated that Voigt has been discredited due to an AI affair and plagiarism. Furthermore, she noted that Voigt’s doctoral degree was revoked-a matter Wagenknecht pointed out was previously grounds for resignation even within the CDU.
This dispute follows an appearance by Wolf on “Markus Lanz,” where she had previously stated that their last personal meeting occurred approximately a year and a half ago. Although Wolf noted that she would speak with Wagenknecht if called, she also expressed hope that the sentiment would be mutual.
