The Public Prosecutor’s Office in Dresden reported that police discovered nine additional homemade explosive devices near high-voltage power lines south of the Graustein substation in the Görlitz district of Saxony. Specialized units from the State Criminal Police Office of Saxony successfully defused these explosives.
This discovery brings the total number of explosive devices found in Saxony to 21. The investigation, currently being handled by the Central Office for Extremism Saxony at the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Dresden and the State Criminal Police Office of Saxony, remains active. Authorities are continuing to ask the public for assistance with the ongoing investigation.
These events follow recent attacks on electrical infrastructure across several federal states. A search for a suspected perpetrator is still underway.
