Federal Health Minister Carsten Linnemann (CDU) expressed confidence in the ongoing process following the postponement of a cabinet meeting dedicated to establishing a care commission. Telling the “Rheinische Post” on Thursday, the minister stated that the setup of the care structure commission is nearing completion. Linnemann emphasized that ensuring that care is both affordable and goal-oriented is a shared objective for the ruling coalition. He added that past experience with expert commissions has been highly positive. Based on the recommendations delivered by this new commission, the government intends to initiate a structural reform, which is targeted to come into effect on July 1, 2027.
