AfD Leaders Demand Distance From Controversial Figure

Discussions surrounding the far-right activist Martin Sellner took place within the AfD’s federal executive committee on Monday, according to reports.

The discussions, held during a telephone conference focused on the recent Federal Administrative Court’s ruling concerning “Compact” involved a deputy committee member warning that any collaboration or joint events with Sellner could be negatively factored into future legal proceedings against the AfD. Reports indicate that there was unanimous agreement among the executive committee members regarding this assessment.

While a formal resolution was not adopted, it was agreed that the regional chairpersons would be advised at the next joint session, scheduled in two weeks, to raise awareness within their respective state branches regarding the importance of maintaining distance from Sellner, a figure associated with the “Identitarian Movement”. The Federal Administrative Court’s ruling specifically addressed Sellner’s “Remigration Concept” deeming it a violation of the Basic Law.
