According to a recent poll for the state elections in Saxony-Anhalt, the AfD is predicted to secure 41 percent of the vote, marking an increase of 2 points and expanding its lead over the CDU. This data is reported by the MDR, citing an Infratest trend. The CDU, led by Minister President Sven Schulze, is projected to receive 26 percent of the vote, a slight drop of one point compared to the previous survey conducted in September 2025.
In the poll, Die Linke registered 12 percent (-1), while the SPD remained stable at 7 percent. Both the Greens and the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance each received 4 percent. Additionally, the FDP is currently unlikely to make it into the state parliament.
Furthermore, in a hypothetical direct election for Minister President, Sven Schulze would narrowly lead the AfD’s top candidate, Ulrich Siegmund. Schulze was favored by 36 percent of respondents, compared to 32 percent for Siegmund. Overall, dissatisfaction with the current state government is high, with 62 percent of respondents rating its performance negatively.
