The Financial Supervisory Authority (Bafin) announced that it will relocate its Frankfurt office in 2028, moving from the city outskirts into the central Europaviertel. According to a spokesperson for the authority speaking to the “Handelsblatt”, Bafin will move its Frankfurt location to the RAW office campus.
The spokesperson cited several reasons for the move. The future site has undergone an energy-efficient renovation, making it more sustainable and efficient. Furthermore, the new location offers excellent transport links and is, overall, more cost-effective.
The building itself was previously the main administration headquarters of Deutsche Bahn, located near the main train station and informally known as the “Bahnpyramid.” This historically protected structure previously housed parts of the DB executive board until 2021. Since then, it has been extensively renovated and modernized over several years.
