Bayern Routinely Dominates Magdeburg in DFB-Pokal Sweep Despite Early Efforts

Bayern Munich comfortably fulfilled their obligation in the second round of the DFB-Pokal, securing a commanding 6-1 victory over 1. FC Magdeburg. The Munich side achieved an early lead in the 10th minute when Michael Olise slotted a ball into the empty net following a cross from Ismael Saibari. Magdeburg managed to equalize quickly, however, with Mateusz Zukowski scoring in the 15th minute. That proved to be the last effort from the guests, though; Bayern reclaimed the lead in the 21st minute as Saibari scored after a pass from Olise.

Bayern maintained control of the match throughout the second half. Olise doubled the lead to 3-1 in the 50th minute from the penalty spot, after Alphonso Davies was brought down inside the box. Davies himself then joined the scoring sheet in the 70th minute. Nathaniel Brown added to the tally in the 73rd minute, followed by David Daiber in the 93rd minute.

In other parallel fixtures, Hannover 96 lost 0-2 to 1. FC Kaiserslautern, while Bayer Leverkusen defeated 1. FC Nürnberg 5-2. The encounter between Holstein Kiel and TSG Hoffenheim required extra time, concluding after a 1-1 deadlock.
