Police and the public prosecutor’s office launched a major raid in Berlin on Wednesday morning due to suspected illegal firearm trafficking. As of the morning hours, searches have been taking place across the city targeting multiple suspects. Authorities reported that over 300 personnel are currently deployed, including additional support from several federal states and national agencies.
In connection with the operation, police have confirmed that several individuals were detained. To date, investigators have also recovered two firearms alongside ammunition. The measures are part of ongoing investigations conducted by the police’s “Ferrum” unit and the public prosecutor’s office’s “Telum” unit.
