The German federal government is expanding its deportations toward Afghanistan. According to a report by “Bild”, a charter flight carrying 40 Afghan men landed in Kabul on Wednesday.
According to the ministry of the interior, the individuals being deported are convicted criminals who have been sentenced for serious offenses. These crimes include sexual offenses, assault, and drug trafficking. Most of the men were expelled directly from prison.
Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (CSU) told the newspaper, “Convicted criminals must leave our country. This is why returns to Afghanistan are a regular and reliable part of our migration policy.” Dobrindt further commented, “Our course is clear: control, consistency, and a rule of law that enforces its decisions.”
