Two suspects have been taken into custody after a suspected arson attack took place at a construction site located near the headquarters of the technology conglomerate Rohde & Schwarz in Munich.
The Munich Public Prosecutor’s Office announced on Friday that a warrant was issued against a 28-year-old Bulgarian woman and her 38-year-old compatriot. They face charges of property damage and attempted arson. According to the investigation, the suspects are alleged to have thrown incendiary devices from a vehicle.
Police were informed by a witness who observed the devices being thrown from a car on the night leading up to Thursday. One of the incendiaries ignited near construction containers, but it was extinguished by a police patrol in time. Only minor property damage occurred, and no one was injured. Another incendiary device, which failed to ignite, was neutralized by specialized forces. The suspects were arrested at a nearby gas station. Investigations into their connection to the incident and any potential motive are ongoing.
