SPD Parliamentary Affairs Director Dirk Wiese reports that the coalition parties have regained consensus after a meeting of the Coalition Committee. Wiese told Funke Media Group newspapers that, “We have once again found our footing” emphasizing the need to maintain this productive rhythm and achieve key political goals before the summer recess.
He added that the CDU and SPD plan to develop reform package before the summer break, which will focus on taxes, the job market, pensions, and streamlining bureaucracy. According to Wiese, the discussions held during the Coalition Committee meetings allowed them to collaboratively and trustfully work towards vital solutions for the country.
Furthermore, the parties have set timelines for crucial modernization projects and established a dialogue with social partners to ensure broad support for the planned reforms, the SPD politician noted.
