According to reports from participants in the coalition committee meeting, the Union (CDU/CSU) and the SPD leadership reached an agreement on a significant reform package this Wednesday.
It is understood that this agreement encompasses reforms to the income tax system, regulations concerning the labor market, and various measures aimed at reducing bureaucracy.
All the specific details of the package are set to be unveiled on Thursday at 9 am. Unusually, the announcement will take place in the so-called “Chancellor’s Garden.”
As is customary, the press conference is scheduled to feature the four party chairpersons: Friedrich Merz of the CDU, Markus Söder of the CSU, and Lars Klingbeil and Bärbel Bas, both from the SPD.
