DFB Launches Dedicated Pay-TV Channel to Showcase Every Facet of German Football

The German Football Association (DFB) announced on Wednesday that it is launching its own linear pay-TV channel, called “DFB.TV” starting May 22nd. The platform aims to bring together and revitalize the entire spectrum of German football.

The channel’s programming will be extensive, featuring live coverage of youth national teams, the women’s 2. Bundesliga, the amateur final day, as well as coverage of futsal, beach soccer, and the DFB-ePokal. In addition to match action, viewers can expect insight into talent development and training methodologies, such as the “Germany Training Philosophy”.

This new service is being realized through a joint venture with the Sportainment Media Group, based in Hamburg, which already operates several sports channels. Viewers will be able to access the channel in HD quality across multiple major payment platforms in Germany, including DAZN, HD+, Vodafone, and Zattoo; negotiations are currently ongoing with additional platforms. Furthermore, the DFB plans to offer the channel for direct booking via a dedicated app.

The premiere date is set for the evening preceding the men’s DFB-Pokal final. Starting May 23rd, the channel will immediately broadcast live games from the amateur final day. Subsequent schedules will feature highlights from the men’s and women’s DFB-Pokal, the 3. Liga, the women’s Bundesliga, and the national teams.
