Flávio Bolsonaro, son of the former far-right president Jair Bolsonaro, is currently leading the presidential election in Brazil. After counting 9 percent of the votes, his support has reached approximately 51 percent, while incumbent Lula da Silva stands at 41 percent. Other candidates garnered a maximum of three percent or less and are therefore unlikely to influence the outcome. Recent polls indicated a neck-and-neck race, although Lula generally maintained a slight lead. If no candidate secures the 50-percent threshold after all votes are counted, the two leading candidates will advance from the first round, taking place on October 25th, to a runoff election.
