Fuel prices in Germany have risen notably even before the planned end of the fuel discount. According to the ADAC, the price of Super E10 climbed to €1.923 per liter on June 30, representing an increase of 6.2 cents compared to the previous day. Diesel prices also escalated by 7.5 cents, reaching €1.859 per liter.
The motoring club strongly criticized the actions of the oil conglomerates. The ADAC maintains that crude oil prices have remained stable, and the current pump prices are already deemed excessive. Compounding the concern, prices for Super E10 rose by 10.6 cents and diesel increased by 12.8 cents compared to the previous week. Given that the fuel discount has been prematurely withdrawn by the companies, the ADAC sees no justification for any further price hikes, arguing that the cost level-particularly since the introduction of the “Austria model”-has been inflated.
Looking at the broader monthly trend, fuel prices saw a significant decrease in June compared to May. The average price for Super E10 in June was €1.870, which is 11.3 cents lower than in May, while diesel averaged €1.818 per liter, making it 17.3 cents cheaper. This overall reduction in prices was primarily attributed to the decline in crude oil prices, which fell from nearly $100 to approximately $73.
