DB Stockpiles 800,000 Water Packs for Summer Heat Emergency, Dispelling Cancellation Surge Fear

During the heat of June and July, Deutsche Bahn made preparations by stocking approximately 800,000 Tetra packs of water on its long-distance trains for emergency situations, according to a DB spokesperson speaking to the “Rheinische Post.”

Despite the official heat warning issued by the German Weather Service, which allowed for changes and cancellations to long-distance, saver, and super saver tickets, no massive wave of cancellations was observed. Although some customers did utilize the flexible offer provided between June 25 and June 30, the spokesperson noted that there was no rush in the travel centers and that the number of cancellations did not surge extraordinarily.
