The annual increase in consumer prices in Germany slowed down further in June. According to the Federal Statistical Office, the inflation rate is projected to be 2.3 percent. This figure marks a decline of 0.3 percent compared to May, which recorded an inflation rate of 2.6 percent.
The more indicative core inflation rate, which excludes food and energy, was expected to stand at 2.5 percent, matching the value from the previous month.
Regarding specific sectors, energy prices rose by 3.4 percent in June compared to the same month last year. This increase occurred despite the context of the conflict in the Middle East and available fuel discounts. Meanwhile, the price increase for foodstuffs was only 0.4 percent, while services saw prices rise by 3.1 percent.
