Germany, Italy, and France have agreed on a stricter policy regarding migration. During a meeting in Italy, the interior ministers from the three nations reached an understanding aimed at tighter border control, faster deportations, and a more definitive overall approach. Alexander Dobrindt, the German Federal Interior Minister (CSU), announced on Saturday that Europe intends to regain control over migration through the EU Asylum Pact. The goal is to halt illegal migration and dismantle the smuggling trade by establishing clearer agreements, maintaining a consistent course of action, and ensuring controlled repatriations. These agreements are expected to improve the security of the EU’s external borders and result in a noticeable reduction in irregular migration. Furthermore, new measures, including “Return Hubs” and increased pressure on third-country nations, are intended to guarantee that deportations are effective. Authorities will also crack down more forcefully on smugglers by specifically targeting criminal networks involved in the trade.
