Hamilton Wins Barcelona GP, Scoring First Team Victory for Ferrari

Lewis Hamilton secured a victory in the Barcelona Formula 1 race, marking his first win with the team. George Russell, the current World Champion driving for Mercedes, finished second in Spain, with Lando Norris of McLaren rounding out the podium.

The race began with an exciting start, during which Russell initially established the lead. Hamilton, who started on soft tires, held close behind him but utilized his team’s strategy to claim the top position as the race progressed. Meanwhile, fellow World Champion Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) battled hard to reach second place but ultimately retired just before the end due to mechanical issues. Russell directly benefited from Antonelli’s departure.

Those finishing behind the podium spots included Max Verstappen (Red Bull), Oscar Piastri (McLaren), Isack Hadamard (Red Bull), Pierre Gasly (Alpine), and Franco Colapinto (Alpine). Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls) scored two points for the World Championship by finishing ninth, and Arvid Lindblad (Racing Bulls) earned one point in tenth place. Of the starters, Nico Hülkenberg (Audi) was the only German driver to retire. The next race on the calendar will take place in Austria in two weeks.
