The sale process for the insolvent solar park developer Enerparc has officially commenced, with an initial partial sale expected to take place this year. According to insolvency administrator Stefan Denkhaus, this transaction would also include the workforce, and subsequent portfolio sales are slated for the first quarter of 2027.
While the ultimate goal is to sell the company as a whole, other options are being considered. Discussions with early potential buyers are already underway, and the investment bank Rothschild & Co has been commissioned to manage the transaction.
Enerparc unexpectedly declared insolvency in early September. Meanwhile, its sister companies, pvwerk and Sonnen Tiefbau, have also filed for insolvency under self-administration. Denkhaus assured the press that the core business operations continue and that “we have succeeded in stabilizing the business.” Although the collapse of further entities among the 492 companies associated with Enerparc has been prevented so far, Denkhaus cautioned that with a group of this size, future insolvency applications cannot be ruled out.
This Hamburg-based company is one of Europe’s largest solar park developers. At present, there are approximately 90 projects under construction, and the overall portfolio comprises an installed capacity of 3.8 gigawatts. Enerparc fell into payment default after a financing deal for several photovoltaic and battery storage projects failed at the end of June.
