The Israeli military attacked a Hezbollah infrastructure target in Dahieh, a suburb of Beirut, on Sunday. This was confirmed in a joint statement by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz. The military described the target as a command center used by terrorists to plan attacks against citizens of the State of Israel and Israeli soldiers in Southern Lebanon. Furthermore, the army stated that “precision ammunition” and aerial surveillance were utilized during the strike to minimize damage to civilians. The operation was described as a response to firing from Hezbollah. Previously, Tehran had insisted that a ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran should also include an end to Israeli attacks in Lebanon. In response to Israel’s last attacks on the suburbs of Beirut, Iran had retaliated with strikes against Israel.
