Russian President Vladimir Putin has signaled a readiness to negotiate with the United States and Ukraine sometime in November. This statement was relayed by Presidential Advisor Yuri Uschakow, following a three-hour meeting on Wednesday with U.S. Special Envoy and real estate investor Steve Witkoff.
According to the Kremlin, the intended outcome of these talks is the creation of a comprehensive security system for both the Russian Federation and Ukraine once the conflict is resolved. However, despite these indications of openness, Russia continues to adhere to its current demands and maintains its ongoing military attacks against Ukraine.
During the meeting, Putin and Witkoff exchanged views on how a lasting peace in Ukraine could be achieved, specifically discussing the procedure for potentially resuming trilateral negotiations involving representatives from Russia, the United States, and Ukraine. Furthermore, Putin informed Witkoff that, in his assessment, Russian military forces were making unstoppable advances across all key fronts.
It should be noted that in the past, the Kremlin has repeatedly expressed a willingness to pursue negotiations or seek ceasefires, though it has subsequently attributed the failure to reach agreements to Ukraine.
