According to Ukrainian sources, at least nine people were killed in Kyiv during a series of renewed Russian attacks on Saturday night. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that seven districts were affected, with “routine” residential buildings being targeted. A total of 18 residential houses, a school, the Lithuanian embassy, and various infrastructure facilities were damaged. Furthermore, dozens of people were injured.
Zelenskyy stated that the Russians launched 35 missiles at Ukraine overnight, which included 27 ballistic missiles and 185 attack drones of various types. Although Kyiv was the main target, the regions of Dnipro, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Poltava were also hit. Only one ballistic missile was intercepted because, the President reported, there is currently no ammunition available for the Patriot systems. Zelenskyy further commented that the shortage of defense systems encourages Russia to carry out such attacks that cost human lives.
