Lufthansa Rebuilds Gulf Connectivity, Resuming and Expanding Routes to Saudi Arabia and Jordan

Starting in September, Lufthansa plans to ramp up its air traffic connections to the Gulf region. The airline announced on Thursday that it will gradually restart routes to Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

Initially, Lufthansa will revive its route to Riyadh, flying three times a week from Frankfurt starting September 10th. Following this, ITA Airways-which is now part of the Lufthansa Group-will resume its service to Riyadh from Rome starting September 15th, operating five times a week. Furthermore, Lufthansa subsidiary Austrian Airlines is set to offer connections from Vienna to Amman three times weekly, starting October 2nd.

The company stated that the Lufthansa Group is continuously monitoring and evaluating the situation in the Middle East and is in close contact with various authorities regarding the region. It added that changes are possible due to the dynamic nature of the situation. These airlines in the Lufthansa Group had previously canceled many Middle Eastern destinations in the spring due to the Iran conflict.
