Marco Rose has been appointed the new head coach for the English Premier League club AFC Bournemouth for the upcoming season. The club announced the signing of the 49-year-old German manager on Monday. He has signed a three-year contract that will begin after the 2025/26 season concludes. Rose brings significant experience in top European football, having previously managed Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig.
This hiring comes after it was revealed that Bournemouth’s current coach, Andoni Iraola, will not be extending his contract with the South English club. The Cherries are currently sitting in eighth place in the Premier League and still have a chance of participating in European competitions, as they are level on points with sixth-placed FC Chelsea.
Returning to an overseas role after seven years, Rose was most recently with RB Leipzig until March of last year, where he remains under contract until the end of June. As he will officially be a free agent starting July 1st, no transfer fee will be required. In recent months, there were also rumors suggesting a potential move to Eintracht Frankfurt.
