Minaj and Bieber Lead Single Charts; Billie Eilish Tops Album Charts After Michael Jackson Renaissance

Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj dominated the singles charts for the third consecutive time, with their song “Beauty And A Beat”. Sophomore rappers Dardan and Azet entered the charts at number two with “Vermisse” while Zara Larsson took bronze at number three with “Lush Life”.

In the album rankings, Billie Eilish maintained her spot at the top of the official German album charts with “Hit Me Hard And Soft”. She was followed by BTS, which charted at number two with “Arirang” and Unheilig, which secured third place with “Liebe Glaube Monster”.

Regarding physical sales, the popularity of Michael Jackson was boosted by the release of the biopic “Michael”. Jackson, who passed away in 2009, placed at number four with “Thriller” and at number nine with “Bad”. Calimeros’s “Portofino” reappeared on the fifth spot. The Top 10 also featured singer Tori Amos (“In Times Of Dragons” six) and the blues-rock duo The Black Keys, with “Peaches” charting at number seven.

These official German charts are compiled by GfK Entertainment on behalf of the German Music Industry Association, covering 90 percent of all music sales.
