Netanyahu Resumes Air Strikes on Hezbollah Targets in Southern Beirut

Israel has resumed aerial assaults in Beirut. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Monday that the Israeli military has been ordered to strike targets belonging to Hezbollah in the southern suburbs of Beirut. They justified the order by citing repeated violations of the truce in Lebanon by Hezbollah, as well as attacks on Israeli cities and citizens.

The southern suburbs of Beirut, known as Dahieh, are considered a stronghold for Hezbollah and are frequently ground of tension between Israel and the Lebanese group. Previously, Israel had largely refrained from targeting locations in Beirut during the ceasefire in order to comply with demands made by the Trump administration. However, the latest developments could lead to a renewed escalation of the situation in the region.
